Wildlife Management Institute

The Wildlife Management Institute strives to restore and ensure the well-being of North American wildlife populations through the use of exacting science and carefully crafted partnerships. WMI endorses the validity and importance of science-based wildlife management and seeks to apply principles of ecology to promote biological diversity.

Parts of this state forest are managed to help American woodcock, snowshoe hare, and ruffed grouse. Other young forest wildlife benefits, too.
