NFWF grant to restore Appalachian oak-pine forests

Funding will connect researchers, practitioners, and landowners

A National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grant will help agencies and organizations advance the use of thinning, controlled burning, and planting native species to improve forests for golden-winged warbler, eastern whip-poor-will, red-headed woodpecker, ruffed grouse, and American woodcock.
